Love Love Love - the "Love Project"....................

By now you would all be familiar with presets for Lightroom and actions for Photoshop and how they can improve your workflow and make you look much more super talented than you really are.  Some people use them, some dont but really they are the quickest way to improve your work flow.

I have found since discovering actions and presets that there are a lot of place selling them and they all look pretty much of a muchness with slight variances.  They seem to all be children, in meadow's, in long grass with sun flare behind them and on the softer side.  Dont get me wrong - I would be lost with out them and have my fav's but I guess if your style of photography is not the wispy dreamy type then where do you go?

BUT.........wouldn't it be great to find a bunch of actions that allow you to be a little different and a bit "out there" to make your images stand apart from the norm - a bit like this???

To diverse a bit......I do a lot of rescue photography of animals that are impounded or abandoned looking for homes and the pics I take get uploaded with thousands of others from around the country all competing for "your eye" to draw you in to look at adopting that animal.  So I try to make mine just that little different mainly in colour so that when people are scanning through their eye notices something different.

Back on track......  You can imagine my excitement when I came across this amazing Australian photographer that has just released her first set of actions for LR 3 & LR4 aptly called the "Love Project".

When I saw Julie's pics I fell in love and it was like I could say "I'm home" as the style is right up my alley and then some. Given the huge response since their release a week ago up a lot of other peoples alleys as well.

so - who is Julie Willis?  She is by far one of the most talented photographers that we have right here in our own back yard - check out her web site if you dont believe me.  She is a member of the AIPP and she offers workshops near her home close to Tweed Heads.  She is someone who took the bull by the horns and made up this amazing set of presets and has put them "out there" for everyone else to enjoy.  Oh - and she is a super nice person who actually wants to help you and they are few and far between!

The collection of 22 Presets for LR 3 & 4 will be $69.95 but as an introductory offer they are almost 50% off for $39.95 and can be bought from her at her "Love Project" page on her web site.

They are mainly designed for RAW but they work fine in JPEG and you just adjust the colours a bit to bring down the pop.  All presets no matter where they are from need adjusting and the sky is the limit.  Julie just give you the kick start to your own creativity.

so - pop over to her page and love project and support this amazing Australian and you wont regret one minute of it.  I promise.  You can also head over to her newly started facebook page just for the "Love Project" for tips and tricks on LR3, LR4 & LR5 or stop by her photography facebook page as well so you can see the presets in action.

oh - and just in case you dont think your "out there" yet - she has quiet a few "In there"....lol  The set covers everything from classic to Retro with B & W in between

Until next time - happy snapping
