I am one of those people that believe that in order to improve my photography, I have to be prepared to pay money and take a class that is going to help me improve in the direction that I see that I need more help in.
When I found this course run by
Davina Fear aptly titled "
Familiness Workshop" it definitely got my attention. You see, I am not one of those super maternal mums that we see all over the place in pictures covered with flour while laughing over the making of cookies. I (sadly) am one of the new age mums that work , run a house, look after a property and lot of animals while the husband is away with the Navy.
Those moments of being covered with flour on my nose are somewhere between the (currently) 4 full baskets of ironing, orders to pack and web pages to recode while deciding on dinner after the dog stole the meat off the bench adn chasing chickens around the yard after the pony ripped the wire of the chicken gate. Sounds familiar huh?
So - I sat on the workshop for a few months and then like photographing your children thought each month that goes by is a month I am missing. So signed up and have not regretted one minute of the 4 week course.
I can take a pretty decent photo so I did not sign up to improve my photography skills as such, but as we know there is more to photography than just knowing your way around the camera. Composition, lighting, mood, attitude and having your "subject" so OVER you taking pics of them to mention a few. Well this is the course that will well and truly get you on the way to understanding the subject so much better in any situation and how to create great memories of your family and also help you in abundance with paying clients.
Davina is amazing and so full of LIFE - trust me - there is nothing like a video from Davina to make you smile and brighten your day. The lessons are in easy to watch videos broken into 3 so if you only have 10 min and not 30 that day you can easily watch what you need. You also join a facebook group where
Davina is in there daily and you can share your pics and get feedback along the way. None of this "read the PDF - watch the video then pick one picture for CC at the end of the week". If your struggling with something - she is there.
anyway, I could go on for hours but here is an example of what I ended up with. It was a cold winter rainy day and I was happily sitting on the lounge reading a book and saw my
youngest doing the same. So I grabbed the camera and enjoyed him.
Here is another pic that I never would have taken ( excuse the colors in this one - wrong WB setting :-) but its all about whats happening .
so.......if you want to add some story to your pics and want to work at your own pace over a 4 week class - then run - dont walk to sign up for the next class starting on July 28th so its not to late to sign up.
PLUS - we have a $75 discount code for this class only. Use the code NWFPW75 taking the class down to $225. I guarantee you it will be the best investment in your photography and family that you will ever make.
until next time
happy snapping
